MFA Final Thesis

The theme of these photographs symbolizes the connection between color and emotion. We link general color associations with significant aspects of our lives. My series is intended for the audience to construct their own analysis of each color portrayed in my work and allow the colors to evoke certain emotions in them. I chose to organize each photograph in my own personal perception of color while allowing others to formulate their own interpretation as well. Although each color generally represents a specific connotation, each person builds their own perception due to their experiences, memories, and cultural contexts. For both color series, I want the audience to use their personal experiences with color to elicit significant meaning and specific emotions when viewing my photographs.
